According to Womack, the latter are orphan as there is no one to take care of them in most organizations. This is a must read for all business leaders at all levels in all industries. Some knowledge of lean is required, as the language of lean is throughout the work. One of the core idea of this book evolves around the tension between vertical functions and horizontal value streams. Over the past decade, waks has shared his thoughts and discoveries from these visits with the Lean Community through a monthly letter.
