This was partially beautiful but sadly too short. The writing is so mature, so brilliant, that it can’t be the work of someone with only high school lessons in writing. Using its diverse set of characters, the story teaches its readers the importance hswksong establishing peace between all peoples – finding common ground despite differences in culture, beliefs and abilities.
I think Danica and Zane had a fairly good introduction for the first book, but I feel myself wanting to know a little more about the supporting characters.

Destined to take her mother’s place as ruler of the Avian people, Danice knows too well the challenges she will face concerning the war her people have been fighting for generations against the Serpiente people across the land.
It has raged between her people and the serpiente for so long, no one can remember how the fighting began. This is real life I was looking at here, and there’s not a thing about it that feels superficial or caricaturey. Outraged at this “insane” idea, the two families and their people quickly put an end to this proposition although Danica and Zane secretly think it’s insane enough to just might work.
Every one of her books is a treat. It is all Zane asks of Danica–and all they ask of their people–but it may be more than she can give.

Rhodes does an excellent job of not only describing her characters, but endearing them to us also. East Dane Designer Men’s Fashion. Not this book however, I’ll admit that it was short, there could have been more development of the characters pasts and personalities. Teen fantasy books tend to be more interesting to put it simply. Ever since I’ve arrived at GoodReads, I’ve wanted to write a review for this book.
This hawjsong was a book I couldn’t put down and read within 24 hours. But this book is more then a book I love.
Under the cloak of darkness Danica secretly meets with Zane to make the final arrangements of which is the final desperate attempt to make peace. Atwater-Rhodes, my friends, is not to be missed.
